Am I smart enough for the 21st century?
My kids tell me that I am “so 20th century”. This irks me. A chap likes to feel that he is “with it”, as we used to say in the 20th century. True, I spent 46 years of my life in the same century as LPs, Spam and the Light Programme. But since the Grim Reaper seems to call later and later these days, and the Grim Chancellor has made it all but impossible to retire before the age of about 103, it’s quite possible that I may live and work for even longer in the 21st century than I did in the 20th.

Trends for the Smart Home Owners
Let’s start by clearing up what exactly is a Smart Home. A home is smart when technology has been introduced to enhance the owner’s lifestyle or quality of life. Many of us are already fledging Smart Home owners – with cordless phones, digital televisions, one or more PCs, dial-up broadband Internet access and alarm systems - and we will increasingly adopt more sophisticated products as Smart Home ownership continues to become an affordable reality. Home networking, home automation and communication systems can make life easier, your home more secure, or simply make your home a more fun place to live.
